Udny and Pitmedden Parish Church - Church of Scotland

Youth for Christ

I trust this letter finds you well, and that your church life is enjoying God’s richest blessings. The reason for this letter is to give you some information about Youth For Christ’s ministry in Scotland, and also to make a request. It is now 60 years since Billy Graham founded Youth For Christ’s work in the UK, and we have been working here in Scotland now for 10 years. We believe we are now in a really important phase in our ministry life. We have a growing number of opportunities to serve the church across Scotland through sending them Year Out volunteers, as well as helping churches at grass roots level to reach and keep their young people. We have a sports ministry team in Bridge of Don, near Aberdeen, and a creative arts team touring the country, ministering in schools and local churches. Both of these teams are available to serve the church across the nation. The last few weeks has seen some major training days for youth leaders, and as a result, we need to raise the level of work and ministry across Scotland to meet the growing demands upon our time and energy. We have much vision and hope for the future.
As stated above, I also have a request that I would ask your church to consider, In order for YFC to operate, we depend on the giving of God’s people. Local churches, individuals, and Christian trusts give to our work, for which we are grateful to God. However, as you can tell from the earlier paragraph, we need to raise more support in order that our work continues.

Therefore, I wonder if you would consider giving to YFC’s work in Scotland through your Home Mission’s fund, or taking up a special offering. I would be happy to come to your church to tell your congregation a little of what we do, as well as showing some clips of our work in and around Scotland.

May I ask that you prayerfully consider this request, and if you wish some more information, then please call me at the number at the head of this letter. The need to reach out to the young people of Scotland is immense. We simply ask that you would consider sharing in this work with us through giving, and we would be so blessed if you could give to our work and ministry.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Blessings in His name.

Ed Jeffrey,
Scottish Director.
